Is Your MLM A “Billboard In The Desert?”

How many times have your heard this from a fellow network marketer:  “My network is growing to slowly, what can I do?” 

There are two major factors for a lack of distributor growth:

#1 - Your self-exposure rate is low (traffic)

#2 – You are simply not making any connections within the traffic that you have (leads)

We will explore factor #1 in this article.  What is your traffic?  Is your self-exposure rate like a billboard in the desert? 

Imagine the brand McDonald’s for example.  McDonald’s is the classic example of a system that is capable of replicating itself anywhere.  Regardless of the location, one can rest assure that McDonald’s french fries will have the same great taste that we have grown to love ! 

Even with their great products and systems, the independent McDonald’s franchisee understands that location is just as critical as the great taste of the french fries!!  Simply put, a McDonald’s location on a busy intersection with a traffic count of 60K vehicles per day will more than likely grow faster than your rural McDonald’s on a 4-lane highway which brings me to point #1 – Self Exposure Rate.

YOU MUST EXPOSE YOURSELF TO MORE TRAFFIC.  If I wasn’t clear the first time, then let me say this again: YOU must expose YOURSELF to more traffic.  Notice I didn’t say you must expose your MLM to more traffic.  McDonald’s is the brand in the example above, but YOU are the brand in your MLM!!    

And just like a McDonald’s franchisee studies traffic patterns to determine the best location for optimal growth, YOU must understand the best sources of traffic.  This will provide direction as  to where you should brand yourself to help grow your business at a faster rate. 

Additionally, YOU must understand your unique selling proposition…..why would someone want to work with you?  What skills do I have that others would benefit from?  These answers should surely be a part of your brand.  This will help you stand out as you look to improve your traffic patterns.
